Zoo de la Palmyre
In the heart of the Côte de Beauté and the beaches of Charente-Maritime, a few dunes from Royan, discover one of the most renowned zoological parks in Europe: the Zoo de la Palmyre. Founded by Claude Caillé in 1966, this unique site brings together more than 1,600 animals of 115 different species. Along the shaded paths that wind through 18 hectares of pine forest, observe rare species and learn about them better. Visiting the La Palmyre Zoo is the guarantee of spending a pleasant day in an exotic wild setting.

Aquarium
Located near the city's Old Port, the La Rochelle Aquarium will take you across the seas and oceans to discover more than 12,000 marine animals distributed in the 3 million liters of sea water in the 78 aquariums. . With a space of 8,445 m², the Aquarium de la Rochelle is one of the largest in Europe. From shrimp to sharks, admire the incredible variety of underwater flora and fauna. It all starts with a dark tunnel, an abyss populated by jellyfish, then species native to the Rochelaise region: shrimp, anemones, bars, sharks and turtles. The campsite has a partnership with AZ nautic, a specialist in nautical activities which offers boats drives with or without a license, jet-skis with a license, jet-ski tours without a license supervised by a qualified instructor, as well as tubing.
 
For non-motorised activities, we suggest you turn to the Cercle Nautique à Meschers where you can kayak, windsurf, stand-up paddle. You can discover the activities piecemeal or through an internship.
